I was born in my parents bed Home from the beginning. Snow fell from the sky outside. Not expecting what was ahead, the midwife fainted. As I slowly opened by eyes. First house I lived in. Smiled in, and cried in. First place I could breathe in That clean village air. Crawl on the patio without a care. At one with whatever's there. Remember hurting my head, crying at the ceiling. They stitched me up with glue. Remember burning my hand. Learning about healing, and different shades of blue. The sand I played in. Laughing and singing. The space, I could breathe in. That clean village air. Crawl on the patio without a care. At one with whatever's there. Whatever's there. Yeah, yeah. Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben.

Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben. I have a dream where I can fly. Recurring, up into the sky Not as often as I would like. It's an indescribable high. Free fall. Flying through the sky. Free fall. Not questioning why. I go up to all of my friends. To see their reaction again. Seeing my body levitate. Man, it feels just too great to say. Glide past roads and over lakes. Glide past guilt from past mistakes Free fall. Flying through the sky. Free fall. Not questioning why. Not questioning why. Not questioning why. Flying through the sky. Not questioning why. People express diluted dreams. I will tell it just as it is. Spend time alone; you notice things. How powerful your mind can be. Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben.

Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben. Recognize real eyes, a genuine smile. Hard to tell on these days. Everyone wil lie, pretend to be shy. You will never totally know someone And understand their life. But you can promise to stay by their side Through time. Cross your heart and soul, never lie And hope to die, sharing life Growing old peacefully. Closing eyes Recognize a genuine smile When you tell me these things Melting me inside, I am warm tonight But you will never totally know someone And understand their life. But you can promise to stay by their side Through time. Cross your heart and soul, never lie And hope to die, sharing life Growing old peacefully. Cross your heart and soul, never lie And hope to die, sharing life Growing old peacefully. Sharing life, growing old peacefully. Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben.

Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben. A gift of material from your jeans Wrapped around my wrist like string This sweet and symbolic offering. Taste of the love you will bring. Your eyes are so similar to mine Colour of the world; blue and green. Holding you through the pain, kissing under the streetlights again. Now's the time for our final chance We'll build our love on trust and romance. I'll take you on my favourite walk We'll stroll along, holding hands, and talk You'll show me to your favourite place We'll speak of things we overcame. My choice was to tell you the truth Even though I knew it would hurt you And we'd probably be through The guilt for the pain I added to. I was selfish, my heart was confused. Monique I could feel it through your eyes. You could tell I loved you and always will do. You can't put a price on being true And that's just me now, through and through I know deep down I'm the same as you. I'm the same as you. Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben.

Fly like a sparrow, glide into the night. I'll greet you at my window, never slip or fall this time. When the timing is right, along with the light. You know it's fine. When we know that probably sometime soon. You and me could share some sweet intimacy again. Again. Collide with shadows. I sing to feel alive. I'll serenade you on your rooftop, never sing off-key tonight. When the fire inside is oh so bright Sing. Sing. When we know that probably sometime soon. You and me could share some sweet everlasting ecstasy. Yeah, some sweet everlasting intimacy. Some sweet everlasting ecstasy. Some sweet everlasting ecstasy. Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben.

Smoker just like me and you used to be. People have always been the same Existing at a different time People always deny change Your name's been used a million times. I found remains of better days inside your eyes. I can't believe what I saw. A perfect place inside space where there are no lies A great escape from it all. From it all. People have always been the same Existing at a different time People always deny change Your name's been used a million times. I found remains of better days inside your eyes. Stroll through little shops and cafes Enjoying everything today Colour of the sea and the bay Just sometimes takes my breath away Singing along to 'Ocean Drive' Where all ages feel alive Sing happy, loud and proud Where you never feel old Appreciate when it is cold Things like this will help you grow Don't hesitate, follow your heart. Don't underestimate this art. Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben. Holding you while you were crying for a little while. Your tears were drowning your smile Hugging for quite a long while Wishing we could turn back time Do and say everything right Make up for the times you weren't nice Holding you while you were crying for a little while. Your tears were hiding your smile. Hugging for quite a long while. Wishing we could get back life. Spill our guts one last time. Declare your love, make it alright. Holding you while you were crying for a little while. Holding you while you were crying for a little while Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben.

Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben. Am I the only soul who feels lost all the time? Why did you say you wanted to meet up with me today or tonight When right in the back of your mind you knew it was a lie? High and dry, you don't deserve my tears so I'm not gonna cry. But I thought maybe just once, luck would be on my side. By some strange coincidence, you'd be looking forward to our night. But guess what? It's just me. Staring dumbfounded at this screen. Remembering the existence of you and me. Together but completely free. Yeah Yeah, sometimes I feel that to fall in love is to fall full-stop. When there's one person who loves but the other does not. It's like one person shines while the other rots. An evil plot, smoke rising from a babie's cot. But I thought maybe just once, luck would be on my side. By some strange coincidence, I wouldn't feel like s**t tonight. But guess what? I do. Staring dumbfounded at my shoes. Remembering the existence of you and me. Together but completely free. Is it me or do you sometimes feel so alone when you're on your own? Knowing how good it feels to be in love When you're on your own. When you're on your own it sucks! No more love bites or long hugs. No more feeling completely loved. No ecstasy without drugs. I would forget, if only I could. But I just my tounge Yeah, I just bite my tounge. Sing, sigh and shrug Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben.

Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben. You never have a decent night's sleep And you just laugh like it's a good thing. You know it's not a positive habit But you've got the drive to kick it. Too many minds are fried and spoiled Stoned with thoughts, crazy and pointless The voices talk to each one of us Relatives helping us from the past Everything sharing the same space Just different sides of the same place Ever-changing and nameless We're born forever formless. Formless. My thoughts like clouds in the sky Disappear like the fading nights I am the sense of touch and sight These are the wings that gave me flight. A rainbow triggers the season change And fireworks fly like comets in space. At the show you feel something. Enough to inspire and change your life. Everything sharing the same space Just different sides of the same place Ever-changing and nameless We're born forever formless. Formless. Formless. Formless. Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben.

Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben. I can't believe I'm here right now. I wonder why I'm always questioning how We should live our lives We should live our lives Wear your clothes how you want Until the day you drop We all only get one chance To untangle the knots in our head. I can't believe I'm here right now I wonder why I'm always questioning how We should live our lives. We should live our life. Wear your clothes how you want Until the day you drop We all only get one chance To untangle the knots in our head. Yeah, we all only get one chance To untangle the knots in our head. Don't judge anything but yourself And you will fly. Yeah, you will fly, here right now. Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben.

Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben. It's OK, I love you just the way you are. Sure thing. We'll never stand apart again. Just too much indecision. Co-operation or confrontation? It's your choice. I know you're fair about most things And you need to feel accepted So keep on doing what you do For the greater good. For the greater good. For the greater good. From one extreme to another You always try to find the perfect balance. So sensitive to social undercurrents Just one smile of yours could melt away The coldest heart there is. It's your choice. I know you're fair about most things And you need to feel accepted So keep on doing what you do For the greater good. For the greater good. For the greater good. It's OK, I love you just the way you are. Sure thing. We'll never stand apart. Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben.

Always Searching for a reason, Maybe there is no reason. We are. All waiting in line For that eternal sunshine. At one with all who've died. She said 'I wish there was an afterlife I could believe in but i'm trying so hard not to lie, so i won't mention it'. Sideways. Moving like a crab, today I have no plans. I am. Searching for the right line to be remembered through time. At one with all who've died. She said 'I wish there was an afterlife I could believe in but i'm trying so hard not to lie, so i won't mention it'. I just love and live. These songs I give. To peace and moving on. To everyone alive and gone. Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben.

The morning appears And now those sparrows sing. A brand new year, self pity somehow disappears. Silent sunrise, you make me feel. Almost as high as when I was lost in your eyes. When I was caught in the moment. Happiness will prevail, in patches. In patches. So I sang 'Take and look and see just what you'll find'. Trying to make you feel alright. So many tiny details to take in. As I see heavenly patches of your soul, through your eyes, Caught in the moment. Happiness will prevail, in patches. Size doesn't matter, It's how you feel. In your eyes, I felt someone who's strong and real. Good things come in small packages, i saw your soul in patches. Good things come in small packages, i saw your soul in patches. When I was caught in the moment. Happiness will prevail. Size doesn't matter, It's how you feel. In your eyes, I felt someone who's strong and real. Good things come in small packages, i saw your soul in patches. Good things come in small packages, i saw your soul in patches. In patches. Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben.

We pass by the joys of life. Without knowing we've missed them. Question why we question time. Just leaning our mind again. Everything's moving, energy never leaves. Seize all the movements of the conscious mind. To realize. Truth is this moment. Just follow the breath. Frozen views will melt. Awareness awakes. Nothing starts or stops. Everything's moving, energy never leaves. Seize all the movements of the conscious mind. To realize. Truth is this moment. We pass by the joys of life. Without knowing we've missed them. We've missed them. Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben.

The view from the attic window looks so peaceful in the mornings. This room holds many memories of laughing and loving. I'll have to say goodbye one day. But it's OK, i'm so used to change, it's easy. I need to say goodnight, baby. It's the right time for me to stand on my own two feet. The views I sing in my bedroom can calm me in the evening, This home hides many highs and lows. Sleepless nights to great heights. I'll have to say goodbye one day. But it's OK, i'm so used to change, it's easy. I need to say goodnight, baby. It's the right time for me to stand on my own two feet. I see. Balloons tied to a garden gate symbolize a birthday. but with no candles for the cake, every gift can go to waste. You can't help but smile, on great days. When the view holds you high. Inside. Only you will ever know your mind. Only you will ever live your life. Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben.

Copyright 2013. Louis Ruben. I'll be there in your waking moments, dear. Your daily dose of confidence. Endless different roads to go down. Infinite number of sounds. Money gets in the way of what's important to me. One day we'll witness true equality. Endless different possibilities. Badgers making friends with trees. I'll always love the play on words. The mystery of child birth. Endless different roads to go down. Infinite number of sounds. Don't worry the dark won't fall in. I'll be right there next to you. Smiling. Inside. Copyright 2013. about

On a sunny day in 2007, seventeen of my original songs were recorded in my friend's bedroom, and this is the result. One thing I love about this collection is the fact that you can hear birdsong from the back garden, on several of the songs. This collection was the first time that I recorded any of my solo songs, after writing and performing as the bassist/lead vocalist in my first band 'Change of State' for several years, whilst studying at secondary school.

A new version of 'Inside' is available on my 26-song collection 'Alphabet Songbook' and elements of 'Here Right Now' reappear on the song 'Life Is!'.

Newer demos of 'Love Bites' and 'Afterlife' are available on my 'Pre-Flight Epitaph' collection.

Developed versions of at least 3 of the other songs will also be re-recorded for future releases.

Feel free to add me on Facebook (www.facebook.com/louisruben) or drop me an e-mail (louis_ruben@hotmail.co.uk) if you would like updates about my music and upcoming gigs or want to book me for a private/public solo acoustic performance.
